Where is your office located?
What do I do to get started?
Call me for a phone consultation to make sure this is a good fit for both of us.
This phone call is required prior to setting up your first in office appointment. If it’s better for you to see someone else, I can offer to connect you to colleagues I respect and trust. You deserve to get the help you need.
How do I pay?
All credit cards, cash, and HSA are accepted.
Should I private pay?
Here are good reasons to pay privately for therapy:
• You choose the therapist best suited to your needs, rather than the insurance company telling you
who to see.
• You have flexibility in the type of therapy, who to include in the therapy session, and the length
of services.
• You will have complete confidentiality. Your records will not be shared with anyone without your
permission. In fact, no one else will know you are even in therapy unless you tell them!
• You will be able to stay with your therapist even if your insurance plan coverage changes.
Contact me to review your options.
What are your appointment hours?
Currently, I am available by appointment on Tuesdays and Wednesdays starting at 1 pm and ending at 8 pm, and on Fridays starting at 10 am and ending at 4 pm.
Can I cancel an appointment?
Of course, in the case of an emergency, or with 48-hour notice. Appointments canceled without 48-hour notice are subject to a full fee payment.
How long is a typical session?
Sessions are typically 50 minutes, unless prior arrangements are made. Session length, and criteria, can be completely customized in advance on a case-by-case basis.
What age range do you work with?
I usually work with men and women between the age of 25-55. I work with children ages 9 and above on a case-by-case basis.
What can I expect in the first session?
There is no hard and fast rule for how the first session goes. It is an important time getting to know each other, exploring your hopes and dreams and how we can work together for your benefit.
What is therapy like with you?
People describe therapy with me as relaxing, refreshingly different, mind expanding, heart opening, challenging and yet practical. A common quote from clients is, “it’s like a weight has been lifted”.
How long will I be in therapy?
It varies with each person. For some, it can be like reading a chapter in a book, brief and solution focused. For others, it might look more like reading the full book or an entire series of books. I’m here to support you along your journey. Ultimately, thinking you need to come shifts to coming because you want to.
Does anyone cry in front of you?
Yes. Your feelings are welcome, and at times encouraged. I buy Kleenex in bulk.
Is swearing useful in session?
F*ck yeah! But, only to the extent that it helps you transform for the better.
Do I have to tell you everything?
There is an art of sharing in therapy which balances boundaries and optimal expression for healing.Trust, comfort, and guidance leads to this balance.
I may encourage you to go deeper to find your freedom. Ultimately, it’s your choice what you share.
Who benefits from therapy?
Clients who are ready for change and willing to go deeper beyond the surface.
How do you work with clients?
Through compassionate inquiry and unconditional positive regard. like a soul detective, I work with you to see what you want, what’s in the way, and assist you in finding the shortest route to your freedom.
This may come in the form of emotional healing, energetic healing and speaking directly to your unconscious mind to give it better ways to get you what you really want. Beyond a great conversation, you’ll see real evidence of positive changes showing up in your life.
What else can I do to help myself?
It’s useful to reflect between session times to track evidence of change, feelings, old patterns, differences, explore new options, and observe what’s new.
How do I know if you are the right therapist for me?
The only way to know is to get started. My vision is that the moment we meet, you’ll find yourself smiling more, finding more humor, accessing your courage to change and enjoying a fresh new sense of freedom.
Is our work confidential?
It is only truly confidential if you are a private pay client.
Insurance clients waive their right to confidentiality by virtue of diagnosis and reporting to the insurance company where employees can see your file.
How long have you been in practice?
I’ve been working in this field for over 20 years, and over ten of those have been in private practice.
What are your strengths as a therapist?
I am coming from my own experience and a deep caring for each soul.
You are communicating on multiple levels. That is what I’ve spent my entire career learning to read so that I can notice the subtleties that over time lead to very stable positive changes.
I call it “reading between the words” while including the information in your words. Your body tells me more about the changes you’re making, than your words ever will.
What do you love about being a therapist?
I love facilitating and witnessing transformation. It’s my true calling.
By age 12, I was already reading psychology books and feeling a strong desire to do
what I get to do today.
Have you been in therapy yourself?
Yes. It positively changed my life. It’s still a very important part of my self-care and training. I highly recommend it.
What is your educational background?
I have a bachelor’s degree in Psychology and a master’s degree in Psychotherapy.
I’ve invested a quarter of a million dollars beyond my academic training so far and I travel extensively in the US, Canada, Europe and Peru for ongoing specialized training.
